Why Dexcom ONE and ONE+ cannot work with GGlance

The short version

GGlance reads Dexcom glucose through Dexcom Share, the same service that lets a parent follow a child's readings. Share is the only interface Dexcom exposes that a third-party app can use.

Dexcom ONE and ONE+ do not offer Share. With no Share, there is no route to the data, so there is nothing for GGlance to read.

Why we cannot work around it

The Dexcom Follow app can show another person's readings, so it is fair to ask why an app cannot do the same thing. That app uses a different, private interface that requires requests signed with keys built into Dexcom's own software.

We tested it directly, and it refuses the request outright. It is not a matter of trying harder: the door is deliberately locked, and reasonably so.

What you can do

• Check which sensor you actually have. ONE and ONE+ are separate products from G6 and G7. If you have a G6 or G7, you are fine, and the setup guide will get you running.
• Use the Dexcom app on your phone in the meantime. It remains the supported way to see ONE readings.
• Ask Dexcom for Share on ONE. Users asking is what changes product decisions, not third-party developers asking.

Will GGlance ever support Dexcom ONE?

Only if Dexcom offers Share, or an equivalent interface, on those products. It is not something we can build around from the outside.

I have Dexcom ONE and a FreeStyle Libre. Can I use the Libre side?

Yes. The Libre path is completely separate and works through LibreLinkUp, so a Libre sensor works regardless of the Dexcom situation.
